In December 2006, an external study of Midot’s test was conducted by one of its clients, a large Israeli bank.
The study was conducted on a sample population of 247 people who had been candidates for the bank' s operations division. The aim of the study was to examine the accuracy of the Midot test (an integrity test measuring theft, bribery, honesty and norms).
The results of the Midot test were compared to the results of a background investigation that was conducted by three certified examiners based on various elements, like résumés, biodata, other test findings, references, and an in-depth personal interview). The operational target of this study was to examine the extent to which the two different tools for screening occupational integrity reached similar conclusions regarding the candidates for employment.
57.6% of the subjects were men (N=144) and 41.2% were women (N=103). The average age was 32, (the youngest was 21 years old, and the oldest 55 years old). The average number of years of education was 15.
The study found a high rate of correspondence between the results of the two methods, as can be seen in the table below.

As derived from the table, there was an 85% rate of concurrence between the number of individuals not recommended by the Midot test and those disqualified by the investigation, and the same percentage of those recommended by Midot and those recommended by the investigation.
Another finding shows that neither the investigation nor the tests discriminated against age (young and old). A difference was found between men and women in the bank investigation whereby 6% more women were recommended, although this different was not significant in terms of the Midot test scores
Overall, the findings reinforce the convergent validity, and thus the construct validity of the Midot test.
